Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marks a transformative milestone in India's educational landscape, offering a comprehensive roadmap to revitalize the sector and align it with global benchmarks. This policy emphasizes a learner-centric, flexible, and multidisciplinary approach to education, fostering holistic development while addressing systemic gaps. NEP 2020 integrates equity, accessibility, and quality education, ensuring inclusive growth for all socio-economic groups. By focusing on early childhood education, digital literacy, skill development, and vocational training, it paves the way for a skilled and future-ready workforce capable of driving economic growth.

Key highlights of NEP 2020 include its thrust on universalizing education, promoting regional languages, incorporating Indian knowledge systems, and establishing digital infrastructure for remote learning. These measures aim to bridge the urban-rural divide, enhance employability, and promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The policy's vision aligns seamlessly with India's ambition to become a globally competitive and self-reliant nation, contributing significantly to the realization of Vikshit Bharat, a progressive and developed India.

This research examines NEP 2020's transformative potential, exploring its socio-economic impact through the lenses of education, skill development, and equity. The findings underscore how the policy can catalyze India's transition into a knowledge-driven economy, bridging gaps in human capital and fostering inclusive growth. By analyzing challenges in implementation and proposing actionable solutions, this study highlights the critical role of NEP 2020 in empowering India's journey toward Vikshit Bharat.
